To save time, it is often best to present it quickly with a simple example. If it appears as part of text or dialogue, we often leave the student to guess the word from the context.

    IMPROVING STUDENTS READING
    COMPEREHENSION THROUGH WRITE – PAIR-SHARE ( WPS ) TECNIQUEAT GRADE X-4 OF
    SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL
In this chapter, the researcher is going to present the theoretical frameworks, namely: (1) reading comperehension ; (2) level of reading comprehension; (3) reading skills; (4) factor affecting reading comprehension; (5) write-Pair Share: a cooperative learning strategy; and (6) teaching English reading under Write-Pair Share technique and also (7) relevant study.
    Reading Comperehension
According to Alyousef ( 2006 ), reading can be seen a an interactive between a reader and a text which leads to automaticyti or reading fluency. In this process, the reader interacts dynamically with the text as he tries to get information about the meaning of the text.
    Level of Reading Comprehension
Roe, Stoodt , et al ( in Arimbawa, 2011 ) defiines four levels of reading comprehension, namely; literal comprehension, interpretive comprehension, evaluative level, and critical level reading. Relate to the main focus of study, the researcher just elaborate the literal and interpretive comprehension.
     Literal Comprehension
Literal comprehension is the first level of comprehension. It the simplest level becausethe students not have to understand the meaning of paragraph; however, they could memorize the information.
     Interpretive Comprehension
King and Hulk (1967 ) states that interpretive comprehension is called inferentia thinking and concerned with deeper meaning and the reader should search to understand what the authors written.

    Reading Skill
Al- Dress ( 2009 ) defines two main skills needed in developing students’ efectiveness as reader .
    a) Scaning is a technique that often uses to search for key words or ideas.
    b) Skimming is used to quickly identify the main ideas of the text.

    Factorns Affecting Reading Comprehesion

 Purpuse of reading; when the students have a purpuse for reading text, they will focus their attention to the text and they will try to understand the text.
 Students interest in reading. According to Donoghue ( in Saputri, 2011 ) when the students re curious about the subject, they will have high interest the text to achieve the information aand discover answers to satisfy that suriosity.

Write – Pairs Shave : A Cooperative Learning Strategy

Coopertive learning is a successful teacing strategy in which small teams, eachh with studenst different levels of ability. Use a variety of learning activities to improve students understanding of a subject.
Johnson and Johnson ( in Jacobs, 2002 ) poin out that cooperative learning is the instrutional use of small groups so that student work together to maximize their own and each others learning.

Teaching English Reading under Write – Pair Share Technique
Kagan ( in Jacobs, 1995 ) suggests the procedure of write – pair shave technique in seven steps as follow:
    Step 1 : Reading
Step 2 : Pairing up to work on a task
    Step 3 : Create examples
Step 4 : The write step
Step 5 : The pair step
Step 6 : The share step
    Step 7 : Conclusion

    Relevant Study
The following are some resesarch resulth which are relevant with this present study.
Research by Buharsa ( 2008 ) untitled” Improving the Students “ Reading Comprehension through Think- Pair –Shave ( TPS ) strategy: tnhe result show that there was a positive impact of Think- Pairs –share strategy toward the increase of students ability in answering the quiz based in the reading text.
